Das Wildschwein ist los

Die Poetik von Hrabal wird für immer überdauern… Der sehr langsame Anfang verwandelt sich bald in kleine humorvolle Geschichten, die angeblich auf wahren Begebenheiten beruhen. Der Streit wegen der Hagebuttesauce und dem Kraut kann wahrscheinlich keinen Sieger haben :-) (27.08.2023)

Wenn jemand es kann, dann kann er es einfach, und das gilt sowohl für Bohumil Hrabals literarischen Roman, der das lebendige Panoptikum der Hüttenkolonie in Kersko zum Leben erweckt, als auch für Jiří Menzels Film, der einmal mehr sein raffiniertes Talent für die Umsetzung von guter Literatur in einen guten Film bestätigt. Was bei Hrabal durch Worte funktioniert, funktioniert bei Menzel durch präzise Arbeit mit Bild, Drehbuch und Schauspielern. Ein schöner Film, poetisch im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. For fans of Bohumil Hrabal and Jiří Menzel, it is a duty and truly cult matter, for others a pleasant, relaxed comedy with many top-notch Czech actors, who are rarely seen together in such a strong lineup. It's a great example of the author's source material and the director's collaboration - Menzel and Hrabal simply understood each other. There is nothing essential to criticize about the direction of the film, but this part of Menzel's work does not appeal to me for the same reason that others enthusiastically present it - for its peacefulness and comfort. I prefer darker and more conflict-driven works that provoke thinking and lead to some catharsis. Overall impression: 75%. (08.08.2007)

Jiří Menzel is a great storyteller, Rudolf Hrušínský a great actor a Bohumil Hrabal a great writer. Nothing but an absolutely exceptional, funny and iconic film that never gets old can get out of that. (03.08.2012)

Čepek, Hrušínský, Hanzlík, and Menzel's certain hand. However, all of this locked in clumsy replicas, dysfunctional humor, and unappealing story. Postřížiny can be admired from all sides, Slavnosti are melancholically wrapped nothing. (26.07.2006)
