Spongebob Schwammkopf 2

I didn’t even know SpongeBob until very recently. But then I watched the first movie that completely blew my mind. And we know how it usually goes with sequels, so I was ready for anything at all. In the end, I got a similar portion of craziness like in the first movie. And I really loved the second half of the movie that connected the cartoon characters and the real world. At that point, I thought that each scene was an absolute blast, but the cotton candy was the absolute top of it all; all while illuminati dolphin were all I had before. SpongeBob’s brain full of candy was also amazing. If I were high while I watched this, it would be my favorite movie ever. A genius combination for kids, but also for adults. (10.02.2016)

This must have been written by a bunch of smacked-out junkies. Action-packed craziness about the importance of hamburgers for civilization. The movie has everything: Banderas as an evil pirate, a time machine, superheroes and even a giant squirrel. Weirdly, everything fits together well. The bizarre message that the team will always blame you for everything is a bit surprising. (07.04.2019)

Das Warten hat ein Ende und so konnte mich auch Spongebob enttäuschen. Ich mag absurden und verrückten Humor, aber hier war der Humor rar wie Safran. Sicher, ich habe da schon ein paar gute Witze gefunden, zum Beispiel als Plankton mit einer Geschichte Patrick zum Einschlafen bringen sollte oder als Spongebob behauptete, Patrick sei ein vollwertiges Mitglied des Teams, weil er loyal sei. Allgemein hatte ich aber wirklich nur stellenweise Spaß und das bin ich bei Spongebob einfach nicht gewohnt. Auch die Story hatte nicht die gleiche Qualität wie der Vorgängerfilm oder die Serie und die ganze Passage an Land, kurz gesagt, die 3D-Animation passte überhaupt nicht zu diesem Werk. Klar wäre es schön gewesen, Antonio Banderas als einen der Charaktere zu haben, aber ehrlich gesagt, David Hasselhoff und seine fünf Minuten in der Rolle seines Lebens im ersten Film hat Antonio und sein Burger-Bart voll in die Tasche gesteckt. Es gab nicht einmal ein verrücktes Lied (vielleicht wieder etwas über das taube Nüsschen) oder einen Moment, der mich irgendwie ins Geschehen rein ziehen würde oder verblüffen würde. Wenn ich es zusammenfasse, ist es definitiv der schwächste Auftritt unseres Schwammes aus Bikini Bay, für den er von mir zum ersten Mal nur eine durchschnittliche Bewertung erhielt, weil ich glaube, dass dies unter den ganz harten Fans nicht mehr als 5/10 erreichen könnte... I know Spongebob only vaguely from the animated TV series, so I went to the movie out of boredom and by chance. Well, I have to say that it was really crazy at times, in the sense that I was like "What?! – WTF?!", but that's not meant in a negative way. I liked that it switched between live action, computer animation and cartoon format, so the film didn't feel so monotonous. Antonio Banderas made a complete fool of himself at times, but it didn’t matter (what he wouldn't do for kids). All in all, a very unpretentious film where you can turn off your brain - Spongebob doesn't use it either (if he has one, being a sea sponge). (05.07.2016)

The series is unknown to me, or rather I have only seen one episode, and not even the whole thing. The humor in the film seemed very peculiar to me, and I think there are many things that children cannot understand. And there are also many things that adults will not find amusing. And yet, for some miraculous reason, it still works. Some jokes are so beautifully absurd that you simply can't help but laugh. (21.05.2015)
