Nutzerkritik Necrotongue zur diesen Serie (74)

Teufel und Engel (2018) (S05E07)

Englisch After some time, I have again awarded four stars, even though it was not an episode with a frantic pace and amazing action. There was a lot of debate, but it was relevant. Bjorn found a new bride and I immediately enjoyed myself. Additionally, I learned how to properly castrate a reindeer and saw Floki trying to establish a communist regime. ()

Ragnars Söhne (2018) (S05E08)

Englisch I surprised myself the most with my evaluation. I overlooked minor flaws because the creators obviously decided to try to return to what was good about the series. The pre-battle actions and the battle itself were successful, and I was finally satisfied after a long time. ()

Lang lebe der König! (2018) (S05E09)

Englisch Yeah, yeah, I praised the previous episode and immediately I was duly punished. At one point, I had a feeling that I was watching Game of Thrones, where I also came across extremely fast movements through time and space. What Hvitserk demonstrated on the route Norway-France-Norway had to be the work of the gods, otherwise I can't explain it. And he still had to spend some time negotiating with Rollo and preparing the expeditionary force for the journey. And the strange coronation of Alfred? That was really a bad joke. ()

Der Hauch des Todes (2018) (S05E10)

Englisch In the tenth episode, I positively rated the fact that the creators finally decided to eliminate some important characters, but the execution didn't impress me too much. The way they "chopped up" the battle with shots of what preceded it was alright, but those dumb visions and strange states of some characters got on my nerves. BTW- Halfdan's stupid ending, they really couldn't come up with anything better? He could have brutally stabbed himself in the stomach while shaving, for example. Oh, and I shouldn't forget, Ivar is really going to stir things up, I also have to check that out. ()

Land der Steine (2018) (S05E11)

Englisch I have a strong feeling that the creators of the series focused on deceiving the audience. The eleventh episode didn't really make me angry about anything, but I couldn't help but notice how it seemed like something was constantly happening in it, only to find out that everything important could fit into ten minutes. The cold Nordic air has something to it, poor Rollo in France has fallen hard, at times I was afraid he would fall on his face and breathe his last breath, while Lagertha is still a lively young woman, whose hair color has only changed. ()

Mord am Altar (2018) (S05E12)

Englisch Even the twelfth episode didn't really impress me, although it is true that it could have been much worse. The problem with the fifth season is mainly that it lacks everything that made me like the series. The former high-quality action practically disappeared, planning cunning intrigues made way for completely futile conversations, and now it's just about who, when, and with whom is involved. ()

Das Schwert Gottes (2018) (S05E13)

Englisch In the previous comment, I wrote that the episode could have been much worse, and now I feel like I broke some kind of seal, and it's already here. One thing that can't be denied to the creators of the series is that the character Ivar constantly evolves. How exactly, that's another matter. And as if that wasn't enough, the plot has returned to Floki's settlers, who I really didn't care about, don't care about, and won't care about. It's not even worth going back to what's happening in England, so two pieces are just right. ()

Alles ist dunkel (2018) (S05E14)

Englisch I will willingly admit that I have absolutely no idea what reason the creators had for shooting this episode. I see it as a complete waste of time (my time), instead I could have been watching something with a proper pace, even a sixty-meter snail race would probably entertain me more. I really don't know what to do with it, nothing significant happened, I was bored to death and that guy with a bucket of gasoline really ignited that fire nicely. ()

Verbrannte Erde (2018) (S05E15)

Englisch Compared to the previous episode, there was a huge qualitative leap, suddenly I enjoyed Vikings again, it's a shame that the creators couldn't resist another one of Ivar's speeches. True, the battle could have been even more epic, but I'm glad the screenwriter gave me any at all, there could have also been a scene of sword cleaning after the fight. However, the chief of the Wessex secret service really made a powerful impression on me, they did a great job with that. ()

Der Buddha (2019) (S05E16)

Englisch Maybe it doesn't seem like it according to some of my comments, but I'm basically a tolerant person. I really don't care what anyone believes as long as they don't try to convince me of their truth at all costs. I don't care who sleeps with whom as long as I don't have to see it, but I have a real problem with the development of the plot in the sixteenth episode. I'm used to the occasional northerner getting baptized, but now Buddhism too? Sure, next time someone will surely attack Islam, I'm really looking forward to it. ()

Nackt und allein (2019) (S05E17)

Englisch Why just one star? Because I was terribly bored. Floki's Icelandic adventure didn't entertain me from the very beginning, so when the creators messed it up for half an episode, it was clear that everything was wrong. It was hard for me to feel sorry for the death of a bunch of total lunatics who would only contribute to the pace of the story by mutually exterminating each other. Even Ivar's change of constitution didn't really appeal to me, so it's a pity. ()

Balder (2019) (S05E18)

Englisch This time, there was not so much trekking in Iceland (at least not so much), but Lagertha was found instead, which immediately started to upset me a lot. But some older scenes could be recycled and the screenwriter didn't have to switch too much. I still can't figure out how I missed the establishment of an oil refinery in Kattegat, because gasoline is definitely not spared here. I can't wait for it to be over... ()

Ein fremder Gott (2019) (S05E19)

Englisch I didn't give three stars to the episode because I also had to decide on the possible four pieces, definitely not. I just wasn't bored as much as I was with the previous episodes. And that's a pretty sad reason to increase the rating for a series that initially completely hooked me. Well, yes... I was really amused by only two moments: the first one was when Floki almost destroyed the Island and the second was when the immaculate conception started bothering Ivar's head. I definitely wouldn't recommend this episode to Josef, he might lose his illusions about Maria. ()

Ragnarök (2019) (S05E20)

Englisch I must admit that something finally happened after a long time, on the other hand, it is a fact that the creators should acknowledge that they messed up the siege of Kattegat quite badly. For example, from Bjorn, who was involved in the conquest of Paris, I would have expected him to learn something there, but the covering of the ram after he got many warriors shot at him was a clear stupidity of the screenwriter. Judging by the head covering that Ivar chose, I would guess that the plot of the next season will move to China. ()
