An absolutely great comedy. I don’t know what to praise first, but I’ll probably start with the actors, where I’ll also stop for a while. They are really the best thing in this movie. I don’t remember actors in any movie making such an incredibly great team as in this movie. I have to start with Jennifer Aniston. I hope she never hears what I say about her now. I don’t know if she would like it, but on the other hand, why not. She’s nearing fifty here and is perhaps even more sexy than when I looked at her every day in Friends. And the fact that she’s working as a stripper only benefits her. I had heard that she would put on quite a show, which was one of the things that lured me to this movie. I was afraid that I’d be disappointed, but at the end of the movie she works it up so bad that my underpants got drenched with sweat. I can’t help it, she’s becoming sexier with every next movie she makes. Last time I had this reaction to her when she appeared in Horrible Bosses. But this film trumped that several times over. Add in Emma Roberts whom I also adore. I wish she stayed the same and kept making this type of movies – comedies and independent projects. I hope she doesn’t get trampled down by Hollywood, which could happen very easily. What is worse is getting back on your feet. And Jason Sudeikis and Will Poulter? I have to say that if I ever think about them, I will definitely remember this film first. We’re the Millers is really such a nice chill-out that you’ll want to come back to it multiple times. But from this review, everybody will certainly understand that when I return to it, it will be mainly because of Jennifer. Let’s be a little sexist here – with this movie, she just fulfilled a couple of guys’ childhood dream. (18.12.2013)

Since successful comedies are becoming few and far between, I'm glad for any that make me laugh at least a few times. And with The Millers I giggled almost all the time. The script may be stale a hundred times over, but who wants to keep coming up with new stuff, right? The choice of actors was also spot on, so I don't really have anything to criticize. I very rarely understand the humor of American mainstream comedies. The rating of 76% on FilmBooster was tempting to me, as well as the relatively positive comments. The first minutes of the film were indeed filled with several decent jokes, and the idea of ​​creating a typical American family was crazy but interesting, and the presence of Jennifer Aniston undoubtedly helped the film. The forty-four-year-old actress looked noticeably younger and she has a figure that many teenagers would envy. Although she doesn't showcase exceptional acting skills, she undeniably possesses a certain charm. One quickly understands why she has managed to create a large fan club. However, it soon becomes apparent that the humor is rather clumsy and increasingly cheap. Yet, for a while, it manages to stay within the boundaries that avoid crossing the line of awkwardness. But that changes in the second half, and moreover, the chemistry between the family members is terrible. The screenwriter lacked the courage to utilize what was directly available - to parody and turn upside down the American middle-class family values ​​and the sweet sentiment of family films. All the potential gradually goes to waste, and in the end, it becomes an easily forgettable mess that relies on silly sexual innuendos and swollen testicles. It's a shame because this film could have been better. Overall impression: 40%. (14.10.2017)

An unexpectedly funny comedy. Some of the final twists are cheesy and predictable, but the charisma of the Miller family still pulls it through to a more than satisfying conclusion. Cynical quips, Sudeikis is excellent, so is Jennifer Aniston, and the strip with the final wink is unexpectedly cool. (09.01.2023)

If Clark Griswold was a drug smuggler, it would probably look something like this. A pretty good comedy without much awkwardness and with an excellent Jennifer Aniston. But it is far from the originality of The Joneses with David Duchovny and Demi Moore. Three and a half stars. (18.03.2015)

Im vergangenen Jahr habe ich mir zum Namenstag den polnischen Film Big Love geschenkt, und dieser war einer meiner größten Filmerlebnisse des vergangenen Jahres. In diesem Jahr aber musste ich angesichts der gedrückten Stimmung eine etwas andere Wahl treffen, deshalb erschien mir Wir sind die Millers die ideale Wahl. Und der Film hat seinen Zweck absolut erfüllt, ich habe mich gut amüsiert und abreagiert. Das ganze Quartett funktioniert absolut perfekt, vor allem Will Poulter mit dem Ausdruck eines Dementen rief im Kino Lachsalven hervor. Ed Helms wird wohl wegen Hangover viele Komödienrollen bekommen, schade, dass er nicht mehr Raum hatte. Es würde mich mal interessieren, wo die Amerikaner auf Tomer Sisely gekommen sind. Hat Largo Winch - Tödliches Erbe in den USA gepunktet? Wir sind die Millers ist auf jeden Fall ein Anwärter auf die gelungenste Komödie des Jahres. (29.09.2013)

Except for a few requisite American clichés, a perfect comedy that I'll be happy to rewatch. Twenty years ago, I couldn't stand Jennifer Aniston. Now, I look forward to every film she's in. Her performance was excellent as expected, and even the rest of the cast was great. The theme and script were also fantastic. "The Millers" excel, just not by that much. I was expecting a bit better entertainment, a better script, just something extra that would justify such high ratings. The cadence of the jokes and catchphrases is really killer in some parts, gotta give it that. I'd hate to rate The Millers as "a film with a tired theme that's perfectly crafted and acted", because I really had a great time the whole time, and it's actually very briskly shot – there are practically no dead spots. I kind of took the honeymoon under the fireworks and the pathetic speech about the family in front of the Mexican drug dealer with a grain of salt and it didn't affect my overall impression in any significant way.
