Die Zeitritter - Auf der Suche nach dem heiligen Zahn

Viel schwächer als der erste Teil... Ein klassischer, aus den Fingern gesaugter Plot, eine Wiederholung der guten Gags aus dem vorigen Teil und de facto alles beim Alten, nur etwas pubertärer und spastischer. Trotz aller Negativpunkte hat mir die zweite Zeitreise Spaß gemacht, vor allem dank des hervorragenden Clavier und seiner Vierfachrolle. Auch das Ende des Films ist gelungen, und es ist für mich unverständlich, warum der dritte Teil nicht auf der Handlung aufbaut. Also ein eher amüsanter Wahnsinn, für die es sich lohnt, die Troubadourkiste einzuschalten, denn Prosper der Pisser ist mein Name. (07.04.2004)

Another tidal wave of simple sketch entertainment that lacks the unpretentiousness of the first part, but it’s also a step ahead in terms of acting and plot liveliness. Of course, it is, to put it mildly, utter bullshit where the viewer has to be prepared for anything, regardless of logic or the necessary formal self-control, but the relentless effort to make people laugh is infectious and both main actors really give their best to their roles. Unfortunately, and this is by far the biggest problem from my point of view, with the exception of Jacquillo and Godefroy, all the actors are terribly unlikeable and just watching them got on my nerves, so the most significant (and probably the only) domain of the sequel is once again the non-committal fooling around of two medieval imbeciles, whom we simply have to root for in the midst of a an assortment of assholes. I admire the courage of the creators and Reno and Clavier to do something like this. 60% (01.06.2016)

Everyone has been here since the beginning and they are incredibly affected, which is definitely not something that a person can bear for almost two hours. It was like that in the first one as well, but there it was still quite interesting with an interesting story and especially interesting confrontations. That is not played as much in the second part. It is simply played to have the result as funny as possible. There weren't many flaws made with the script. At times, it's quite childish. The charm of the first part has been lost and Christian Clavier, who plays several characters here, is incredibly tiresome and annoying, maybe because he plays all the roles the same way.
