Entsetzt muss eine Mutter feststellen, dass ihre sechsjährige Tochter während des Flugs verschwunden ist. Die Suche beginnt. Die Flugzeug-Ingenieurin Kyle Pratt (Jodie Foster) sehnt sich nach ihrer Heimat in den USA. Ihr Mann ist bei einem Unfall in Deutschland gestorben, und so ist der Ingenieurin nur ihre kleine Tochter Julia geblieben. Auf dem Rückflug von Berlin nach New York muss Kyle entsetzt feststellen, dass Julia auf einmal spurlos verschwunden ist. Keiner kann ihr sagen, wo ihr sechsjähriges Kind steckt, weder die mitfliegenden Passagiere noch das Flugpersonal sowie Flugsicherheitsbegleiter Carson (Peter Sarsgaard). Auch hätte niemand an Bord das Kind jemals gesehen, selbst auf der Passagierliste taucht der Name Julias nicht auf. Doch Kyle gibt sich nicht geschlagen, und entdeckt, dass sie und ihr Kind Teil eines teuflischen Plans sind, mit dem Terroristen 50 Millionen Dollar Lösegeld erpressen wollen. (ServusTV)

*** Spoiler! *** Flightplan – Ohne jede Spur hat mich am meisten an Kopfgeld – Einer wird bezahlen von Ron Howard erinnert. Kopfgeld – Einer wird bezahlen basiert "nur" auf einer starken Wendung, die den Film in zwei Hälften teilt, die eigenständig sowie zusammen funktionieren. Flightplan – Ohne jede Spur möchte noch weiter gehen, eine starke Wendung reicht ihm nicht, er stellt sie als große Pointe dar. Der gefühllose und irreführende Übergang der ersten, psychologischen Ebene des Films in die zweite, actionreiche Ebene verlangt aber vom Publikum, dass es sich innerhalb von 10 Minuten in der Handlung orientiert. Dann bekommen die Zuschauer*innen nur noch eine Dosis vom US-amerikanischen Heroismus. Flightplan – Ohne jede Spur ist ein technisch präzises, stimmungsvolles psychologisches Drama, das sich in einen weiblichen Air Force One verwandelt. Schade.

Es ist nicht gemeistert, es ergibt weder als psychologisch-mystisches Abenteuer noch als Action-Thriller einen Sinn. Vielleicht ist die "mystische" Hälfte dank Jodie Foster noch sehenswert, aber bei der großen Wendung dreht der Drehbuchautor durch und der ganze Film geht mit der Geschichte den Bach runter. Dass der ganze Hollywood-Bullshit am Ende im Chor getrommelt wird, tut nicht einmal mehr weh, denn Flightplan - Ohne jede Spur hat meine Sympathie sowieso mitten in den Tälern, und so blieb mir nichts anderes übrig, als die Zuckungen aller Beteiligten zu genießen. Das ändert nichts an der Tatsache, dass Robert Schwentke es schafft, die Regie zumindest auf einem leicht überdurchschnittlichen Niveau zu halten.

Had it not been for the terrible screenplay, this could have been a more than decent thriller. The interesting introductory premise remained criminally unused. At the same time, from the beginning (or in the first hour or so of the movie) everything looks pretty good until the "shocking climactic twist", which while everyone anticipates it, at the same time everyone hopes with all their might that it wouldn’t come to this... But it does. After the psychological-mystical introduction comes the action-dramatic finale of the worst and saddest type. The screenplay is truly weak, with poorly written characters. At least the actors give as much as possible to these desperately one-dimensional and mostly useless characters. Even the director tries to disguise the weaknesses of the screenplay as much as possible, but it simply cannot be done and so it remains a mediocre affair in all respects.

I liked the first half of the movie a lot. Just the kind of psychological puzzle movies I like. But suddenly the villain is revealed to the viewer and a huge and stale bore begins. She tries, blah blah blah... he's hot on her heels... and she eventually escapes him. She's a hero. Except for the ridiculously flubbed ending, a nice show.

This is a drama that is much stronger in its questioning when it provides no clues, let alone answers. When it stops asking, it quickly, very quickly, loses steam and the ending becomes painfully routine, riding on the most embarrassing clichés. The film starts at 4 stars, only to slip to one in the end. I'll give a final 2 stars for Jodie Foster's effort. Overall impression: 40%. That plane looked more like an ocean liner or a luxury hotel. Either way, its operator doesn't bear the burden of fuel payments. This is only possible in the aviation fleet of some oil-soaked Arab state...

A dark, suspenseful thriller, that is a strange combination of all possible movies with the theme “trouble on board a plane". I was surprised about what happened with the story in the end and was gobsmacked about what the screenwriters had managed to put together. And about the kidnapper. He was about as suspicious as another ten people on that plane. But I admit, I had my suspicions ;-)

Very weak. There are plot mistakes and blunders in the script, holes like in Swiss cheese, not to mention the second half of the film, which can be called one big cliché. The actors are unremarkable, and even Jodie Foster didn't convince me completely. The first half is still quite watchable. The realistic portrayal of airport operations and certain established rules in air travel is satisfying, and sometimes are highlighted in the foreground. But all attempts at a realistic thriller are undermined by the foolish script. Technically, the film is surprisingly mediocre. The interior of the airplane is beautifully arranged, but the outdoor shots are downright tragic. How could the airplane be black and without a single Airline logo? There are truly a lot of these shortcomings. The final explosion scene is technically botched, and you can feel the computer's involvement (and this is not the first time). This is definitely not for me.

Das Finale hätte nicht so "actionreich“ sein müssen und der Hauptschuft hätte sich die Rede sparen können, in der er verrät, wie und warum alles gemacht wurde. Das ändert aber nichts an der Tatsache, dass Flightplan – Ohne jede Spur ein angenehmer Thriller (light) mit einer sehr guten paranoiden Stimmung und einer ziemlich originellen Idee ist. Meine dreieinhalb Sterne runde ich auf.
