Operation: Broken Arrow (1996)

Englisch It's kind of an average example of its time and what action films represented in the 1990s. John Woo isn't as daring here as he is elsewhere (especially not as much as in his homeland), and the film isn't as cool or as gritty. Still, it's a fairly successful ride that takes you all the way to a classic ending.

Bowfingers große Nummer (1999)

Englisch The overall idea still appeals to me even after years, and it's nice that it's possible to create something like this, something functional, to shoot a film with an actor without him knowing he's the main character. But I think it was possible to squeeze more out of this than just a dual role for Eddie Murphy, who in the second role essentially just goofs off for the camera. It had more potential.

Frei geboren - Königin der Wildnis (1966)

Englisch This is a classic for me, taking me back to my childhood. I look at the film a little differently now, but I still can't help thinking that it's absolutely beautiful how nature is portrayed here. Not to mention how the film works with animals, which is absolutely captivating, and the actors alongside them are mostly genuine. Beautiful.

The Purge: Election Year (2016)

Englisch I'm not sure if it will be good when The Purge becomes a truly extensive series, but so far I've been looking forward to each episode and I will be looking forward to a potential fourth installment, which, as it seems, will indeed happen. And maybe a TV series? This topic is very interesting, and when it's taken on by someone who aims for social critique, preferably still James DeMonaco, it will always be good.

Borgman (2013)

Englisch Borgman is definitely an experience that is absolutely unique but not necessarily pleasant. There are scenes here that can shock you, even if you've seen something before. This is due to how surreal the scenes are and how they are presented confidently. This is not art for art's sake, this is a bizarre story that will stick in your head.

Bärenbrüder 2 (2006)

Englisch I can't help but feel like this was a simplified version of Shrek. There is an incompatible couple who gradually find their way to each other. The connection to the first film is essentially only in the characters, and Disney proves that sequels from this studio are films that should go straight to video rather than to movie theaters.

Blue Like Jazz (2012)

Englisch Feeling blue like jazz, I switched off this movie, which in the end gave me almost nothing, even though I thought that the fates and characters experiencing them could be sufficiently intriguing. It doesn't have the right momentum, and I felt like every good moment is ultimately killed by the inability to build it up properly - like the mother's pregnancy.

Das fliegende Auge (1983)

Englisch This movie perfectly captures the spirit of the eighties. The absence of great action scenes also didn’t matter, by that I mean where helicopters are constantly seen from a distance. The editors and cameramen still managed to create fantastic action scenes that hold up even in today's era. And a proper hero to boot.

Bobby Deerfield (1977)

Englisch I can basically watch Al Pacino anytime, but even with him, towards the end, I felt it was a bit stretched and that not even the performances could save the fact that the film feels a bit empty. In the end, however, the enthusiasm for the actors' performances prevailed. Still, it would have been nice if the film had been shortened a bit and the fact that he was a racer had been emphasized more.

The Neon Demon (2016)

Englisch I thought this was going to be a cinematic experience, but it's really just boring as hell. I almost had the feeling that the finale was just a beginner's attempt to shock as much as possible. And perhaps it worked a little because that suffocation can really affect a person. Very well acted. But otherwise, just disappointment from a boringly predictable, albeit intense, story that tries to be different in form.
