Biografie

He studied Philosophy and Letters at the National University of Cordoba (Argentina). He got his PhD at the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona, where he is also professor and investigator of Film, Contemporary Aesthetics and Literature. In 2009, he presented his feature documentary, Ich bin Enric Marco, in different festivals such as Locarno, San Sebastian, Buenos Aires, and Rotterdam, among many others. In 2022, he released Matadero, his first fiction feature film, in Locarno, Seville, and Mar del Plata, among others. He’s author of Historias de la desaparición, an investigation of the disappearance and the out-of-field in the history of cinema (Shangrila publisher). He’s scriptwriter in the works by Oliver Laxe: Mimosas (Semaine de la Critique Award - Cannes, 2016) and O que Arde (Jury Award at Un Certain Regard - Cannes, 2019, Astor de Oro Award, best film and best script MARFICI Award in 2019, among others). He has given courses and lectures at different universities, film libraries and cultural centres of international prestige, such as New York University, L’Ecole Supérieure d’Art des Rocailles in Biarritz (France), Casa Encendida (Madrid), the CCCB (Barcelona Contemporary Culture Centre), the Centro Galego de Artes da Imaxe (A Coruńa), the Cinematheque in Tangier (Morocco), the Instituto Cervantes de Casablanca (Morocco), the Centre Artistique Centquatre (Paris), the Centre George Pompidu (Paris) or Tabakalera (San Sebastian).
