Agatha Christies Poirot

I didn't like it as much as other Poirot films from this period, but that's just the story. I was quite interested in the filmmaking techniques used, such as the details and the interlacing of images. This is truly intriguing in the film. Moreover, Poirot doesn't lose any of his strength, and David Suchet truly gives him the ultimate form. (26.05.2015)

In this story, it is incredibly beautiful how it manages to capture the horror atmosphere, basically only thanks to the night, a bit of fog, and the right shots. This gives it a lot of extra, as does the resolution, which is presented very darkly and crazily, which has the right effect on the viewer. These last parts are extremely well-crafted and successful. This story totally got me, not only because of Agatha's excellent foundation, but also because of the execution. An immensely dark story, where Suchet reserves himself and mostly maintains only one acting position, which adds to the depression. Overall, the environment is beautifully captured and adds to the overall impression of the story, which is definitely non-traditional and powerful. (26.05.2015)

A detective story that relies on a B-movie plot and beautifully emphasizes it. And yet it's not at all B-movie-like, but excellently thought out, showing how great the author was, and how she - just like her film successors - knew how to play with the genre. I also immensely enjoyed this part and its tangled plot disarmed me. (24.05.2015)

Here it is beautifully visible how it is possible to focus on two different cases and eventually find out that Poirot and Oliver are actually solving one and the same case, which is just very complicated, even though the solution is actually quite simple and the viewer manages to uncover it quite early on. Therefore, relatively early within the series. However, this does not take away from the quality. (27.05.2015)

No, just because the Big Four really appear here, Poirot, Hastings, Japp, and Lemon, this episode deserves the highest possible rating. This meeting is simply worth it, especially when you have watched the series and you know that this is truly the last meeting of this quartet. The story disappointed me a little in its finale, but Poirot played a really big game here, just like his opponent. (27.05.2015)

So I am slowly approaching the end and I have to say that I am excited about these last cases. There is no bad one that cannot be watched, but it is true that there is none like this within the series. This one is well suspenseful and in the end, it doesn't even get to the final scene where the killer is revealed in front of the group of viewers. Such resolution is worth it. (01.06.2015)

I fell in love with the environment here, which was simply beautiful. The stunning Swiss Alps, peaks that are snow-capped all year round, and moreover, there's a minimum number of people. This is exactly how I imagine the perfect vacation. And on top of that, there is a story that is definitely not bad, on the contrary, it is very good and has a surprising resolution. As always. Even though it's not the last installment of Poirot, it was the last one I watched. And so, a certain nostalgia came over me. (03.06.2015)

I have never watched Poirot much, but the books got me interested, so I thought I would give Suchet a chance and catch up on what I missed so many times on TV. And I started right away with the last episode, which shows how well-developed and clearly defined the character already was and how well it is possible to film it on TV. The film was very well done and it is a beautiful farewell to the beloved character portrayed by its court representative. (05.01.2015)
