Das große Geld

The final star I’m giving it is definitely only for the rather amusing templates played by Josef Nedorost and Tomáš Hanák. All the other minuses are for the full-length backing track from the then quite old album "Welcome to the Pleasuredome" (1984) by Frankie Goes To Hollywood, whose main hits "Relax" and "The Power of Love" I hope to never hear again. This sort of overuse was not a good solution. The current album "Liverpool" (1986) would probably not be put in the film, even in one from the socialist block. (03.10.2009)

Die erste Hälfte des Films habe ich getobt, vor allem wegen der Form, und ich habe die Zeit vorgespult, damit dieses Trauma vorübergeht. Die zweite Hälfte hat den abschließenden Eindruck verbessert. Sicher ein interessantes und wahres Thema aus der Feder von Vít Olmer und Radek John und gute schauspielerische Leistungen vor allem von J. Potměšil und R. Skamene, unheimlich abgewertet sicher von der blöden Wiederholung des Songs Relax, von dem mir wirklich schon körperlich schlecht war. Einmal, zweimal würde man ihn im Film verschmerzen, doch wenn man ihn bei jeder besten Gelegenheit hören muss, ist das wirklich unerträglich. Aus diesem Grund kann ich nicht mehr als drei Sternchen geben, auch wenn ich mich noch so sehr überreden würde. (07.07.2013)

I remembered the film quite well from the last time I saw it. I was pleased that it still worked for me and the atmosphere was still there. I enjoyed it again and only took away one star for the music. Apparently, the creators chose the song “Relax” to accompany scenes with currency dealers without realizing that the dealers appear in almost every scene. At least I got to experience what it must be like for prisoners to be tortured by music. If Ondřej Soukup did editing on the soundtrack, too, congratulations... (28.04.2020)
