März 1987: Legasovs Auftritt vor der IAEA in Wien, bei dem er gelogen hatte, macht ihn zum 'Helden der Sowjetunion'. Nun soll er seine Aussage beim Prozess gegen Bruchanow, Formin und Djatlow wiederholen. Ulana drängt Legasov, die Wahrheit zu sagen. Auch Shcherbina wird als Zeuge aufgerufen und erklärt, wie es durch einen Sicherheitstest zur Katastrophe kam. Als Legasov in den Zeugenstand tritt, wird er mit seiner Aussage den gesamten Regierungsapparat erschüttern. (ORF)

In the final episode, two things caught my attention the most. 1) I really liked the reconstruction of the possible events before the actual explosion; it was done excellently and I really enjoyed it. 2) Comrade Legasov impressed me; thanks to his detailed explanation, I also understood how the nuclear reactor works and the reason for the RBMK reactor explosion.
