Der Mann aus dem 1. Jahrhundert

Wieder ein Hummer! Ein niedlicher satirischer Film mit dem unwiderstehlichen Miloš Kopecký (alles, was er sagt, ist herrlich), gut und ab und zu sehr witzig geschrieben, mit sehr gut gelungenen Tricks und einer wirklich tollen und im Rahmen der Möglichkeiten glaubwürdigen Maske von Radovan Lukavský. Die besten Filme von Oldřich Lipský sollten noch kommen. Es wäre aber sehr schade, wenn man Der Mann aus dem 1. Jahrhundert vergessen würde. (18.02.2012)

It doesn't really matter if it's the first Czech science fiction film or if it's an important representative of Czechoslovakian 1960s naive futurism when it's so poorly written, painfully unfunny, and stars a confused Kopecký, who is painfully unsuited to the role of a neurotic moron opportunist and has to come out with lines like "I'm a jellyfish in love!" with no context. The best joke is when, in a utopian future, where everyone thus far has had perfect shapes, solid features, and distant glances, suddenly Menšík is standing at the bar. That was the day Stierlitz was closer than ever to getting caught. (19.04.2022)

Temporal conditional sci-fi comedy from the radiant communist future, disrupted by the bourgeois element from ancient history. The presence of excellent Kopecký in the main role enhances a very average screenplay. Overall impression: 40%. (04.07.2007)
