Sergius, the once knowledgeable professor who is slowly getting overwhelmed with a crazy obsession, invents the time machine. The speed of the machine exceeds that of the rotating of the Earth and thus enables one to fly back in time. He promises both his wealth and his daughter's hand to the person who dares to sit in the strange gadget. The adventurous Count Tibor Ákos is willing to take the risk, but the machine crashes down at the start and the young man is hurt. In his nightmares, back in the 18th century, he experiences strange adventures in the castle of his own ancestor, Count Tibor Gergely. He becomes the friend of Gvadányi, Orczy Lőrinc and falls in love with the beautiful singer from Venice, Rosina Beppo. Coming around again, the count is disappointed to see that his strange adventure was only a dream. He is compensated for his lost lover by Rózsa, the daughter of the professor, the exact mirror-image of Rosina. (Verleiher-Text)
