In diesem ersten Remake des Horrorklassikers “Die Dämonischen” aus dem Jahr 1956 wurde die Handlung nach San Fransisco verlegt. Matthew Bennell (Donald Sutherland) hat den Verdacht, dass sich immer mehr seiner Mitmenschen ungewöhnlich verhalten.
