S1m0ne

Andrew Niccol is a moron. He comes up with an original premise and manages to pull out some interesting thoughts and ideas out of it, only to drown it in an unconvincing execution and an unnecessarily naive package. S1m0ne is not the first time he’s done this, and won’t be the last. The balance between allegoric, serious sci-fi and oddball comedy simply doesn’t work out. It’s decent in the details, but as whole, S1m0ne is just silly. A pity. (11.02.2012)

Pleasant comedy that plays with a clever mystification idea and actually stems from possibilities that today's technology either provides or will provide in the near future. Well-cast with good performances, Al Pacino can't act badly either. Overall impression: 80%. (15.06.2006)

Perfect, funny, clever and relevant. The top-notch performances, especially by Al Pacino and Rachel Roberts, only underscore Andrew Niccol's directorial virtuosity. A great story and a great film. There’s nothing left to say. 100% (27.03.2008)
