Auf Hollywoods 'schwarze Liste' gesetzt, unterliegt er fortan dem Berufsverbot. Um seine Familie zu ernähren, schreibt er unter Pseudonymen weiter. Den Oscar für sein Drehbuch zu 'Ein Herz und der Krone' übernimmt daher sein Freund Ian McLellan Hunter. Da steht Kirk Douglas überraschend vor der Tür: für seinen Film 'Spartacus' will er unbedingt Trumbo gewinnen. (ORF)
