Der alte Spielzeugmacher Geppetto schnitzt aus einem Stück Pinienholz eine Puppe, die er 'Pinocchio' tauft. Zu seiner Verblüffung und Freude erwacht Pinocchio zum Leben und steckt voller Tatendrang. Allerdings nimmt er es mit der Wahrheit nicht so genau. Doch mit jeder Lüge wird seine Nase länger und länger. Pinocchios größter Wunsch ist es, ein Bub wie alle anderen zu sein und so möchte er auch in die Schule gehen. Doch auf dem Weg dorthin, will er unbedingt noch schnell das Puppentheater des Marionettenspielers Mangiafuoco besuchen und gerät so in ein gefährliches Abenteuer. (ORF)

For me, this processing of the classic fairytale where the wooden boy is supposed to become a regular boy is not really essential. Visually, it is quite nice, the computer animation works quite well, but still, the whole thing feels quite forced and it is extremely obvious how the emotions are presented to the children in a very simplistic way, how they are pushed onto them too much.
