Der alte Spielzeugmacher Geppetto schnitzt aus einem Stück Pinienholz eine Puppe, die er 'Pinocchio' tauft. Zu seiner Verblüffung und Freude erwacht Pinocchio zum Leben und steckt voller Tatendrang. Allerdings nimmt er es mit der Wahrheit nicht so genau. Doch mit jeder Lüge wird seine Nase länger und länger. Pinocchios größter Wunsch ist es, ein Bub wie alle anderen zu sein und so möchte er auch in die Schule gehen. Doch auf dem Weg dorthin, will er unbedingt noch schnell das Puppentheater des Marionettenspielers Mangiafuoco besuchen und gerät so in ein gefährliches Abenteuer. (ORF)

For me, it's not a particularly significant adaptation of this classic fairy tale, where the wooden boy is supposed to become a real boy. Visually, it's quite nice, and the CGI animation works fairly well, but overall, it feels a bit forced, and you can really see how the emotions are portrayed to children in a very simplistic way, how they're being pushed onto them too much.
