Englisch "André and the Bee" was a film that brought CGI into animated filmmaking, while "Luxo Junior" was a film that brought a truly strong story to CGI animation, a story that really says something to the viewer. That it is presented by a pair of table lamps? But that doesn't matter at all. It is enough for them to have some specific characteristics and their performance is on the border of genius, as is the case here. The lamps don't have eyes, they don't have faces, they don't have muscles that could move, yet they perfectly handle facial expressions and gestures. Just by moving a little more than lamps are used to. "Luxo Junior" is not much longer than "André and the Bee", but it doesn't lack action, it doesn't lack humor, and there are even emotions involved. Everything is concentrated in the story about one big lamp, one smaller lamp, and one ball. When you want to evoke feelings in people, you don't need much space, but rather a good idea and a successful execution. "Luxo Junior" has that. Thanks to the creation of this film, one of the most influential production studios in the world could start building its empire. ()
