Saša Uhlová, the czech journalist, have lived as them for a half of the year. Her personal experience is not only story about poor people in country. Deutsch Eine Illustration der ausgezeichneten und wichtigen Texte von Saša Uhlová, die ein bisschen überflüssig ist. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob man den Bedarf eines weiteren Kontextes durch Familienszenen ersetzten kann, welche die Folgen von Sašas Entscheidung in Bezug auf ihr Umfeld zeigen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, wie schwer es gewesen sein muss. Eigentlich sollte man aber bei so einem Dokumentarfilm Mitleid mit den "Helden der kapitalistischen Arbeit" haben. Über sie weiß man nur wenig, nur das, was Uhlová vor Ort sachlich festgehalten hat. Das Syndrom der Serie: wichtige Themen, die ausgewählte Methode erfasst sie aber nur zum Teil. ()

Englisch An unnecessary illustration for the best reporting series of this year. Not reading honest stories from work every week that you don't want to do, I would probably damn this documentary completely. It is a picture book that adds nothing because Apolena Rychlíková is not capable behind the camera. It is careless editing that does not take into account that Saša Uhlová is a writing goddess, but her monotone voice kills you halfway through. The few excerpts from family life won't save it because they don't show anything (and sometimes too much the other way around). Unlike in written texts, we learn the absolute minimum about people who do laundry every day, work with meat or sort waste. ()

Englisch I appreciate Saša Uhlová's project, and therefore I am even more disappointed that I have to express my disappointment with how the documentary turned out. I considered the idea of a series of investigative visits to companies relying on low-skilled workers to be necessary and impactful. I read the original texts with enthusiasm, and the reactions to them allow for a better definition of the dividing line of political opinions across society than anything else. Unfortunately, Apolena Rychlíková's film adds practically nothing to them - on the contrary, it dilutes them. The technical quality of the hidden camera footage is desperate, and the content of the documentary is ambivalent. Instead of analyzing her own feelings, Saša should have focused on the stories of those for whom the environment that traumatized Saša is a long-term fate, not a short excursion. Overall impression: 50% out of respect for Saša. ()
