Ein sehr schlimmer Eurotrash-Horrorfilm. Keine Stimmung, schwache Masken, fürchterliche Schauspielleistungen und das Syndrom der militanten Einfältigkeit der US-amerikanischen zweitklassigen Actionfilme der 80er Jahre. Ja, die Action spielt hier eigentlich eine größere Rolle als die Angst. Auch mit einer Lupe findet man hier keine Spannung. Lucio Fulci hat diesen Film nicht gefilmt, er hat ihn nur zu Ende gedreht. Und er hat sich von ihm immer distanziert. Er hat sogar dagegen protestiert, dass sein Name im Nachspann steht. Kein Wunder. Er selbst hat auch keine tollen Filme gedreht. Sie haben aber immer eine gewisse Handschrift des Regisseurs getragen, die ihnen eine anziehende Einzigartigkeit verliehen hat. Zombie III enthält keine Handschrift des Autors und ist im letzten Drittel beleidigend doof. Einen Stern gebe ich nur für die leichte Trash-Unterhaltsamkeit in der ersten Hälfte.

Zombie 3 is one of those films that are just hard to watch. I enjoy films of almost any genre, but when it's just aimlessly going nowhere without anything engaging, I end up dissatisfied even with films where I usually know what to expect. Here, there's no point in expecting anything, because you won't get anything. The question is whether things would have been better if Fulci had stayed at the helm.
