Based on actual creatures that for years have tormented our armed forces in the Middle East, these creatures have now invaded the southwestern deserts of the United States. The Camel Spiders now freely hunt for prey, unafraid of any predator - including man. No place is safe; no one is beyond their paralyzing sting. Nichts wird Wynorski wahrscheinlich aufhalten. Ein weiterer von seinen endlosen Meisterstücken, von denen Jimi's Fans begeistert sein werden. Ein scharfes Tempo, grandiose Actionszenen mit Hunderten von Statisten, allseits fähige Soldaten, die unerschöpfliche Vorratsbehälter, digitale Hubschrauber und Jagdflugzeuge nutzen und etwa hundert - tricktechnisch perfekt beherrschte - kannibalische Spinnen (dieses Mal eine Mischung aus Solifugen und gewöhnlichen Springspinnen), die aus allen möglichen und unmöglichen Verstecken angreifen... kurz gesagt, ein ILM Stück Lumpen. Aber das Ganze ist wirklich so witzig, dass es an manchen Stellen ziemlich gut ist. Leider nur an manchen Stellen. Der zweite Stern geht an meine Schwäche für Spinnen.

Camel Spiders is simply weak. Wynorski didn't come up with anything that would have made the film a bit more interesting, that would have made it at least a bit entertaining. There's no humor to laugh at, there are no good special effects, there's no surprising development - there's simply nothing here that's truly worthwhile or a good reason to watch the film. Wynorski is tragically boring.
