Das Küstendorf, in dem der zwölfjährige Lausebengel Kindkind lebt, wurde bereits von zwei grausamen Morden heimgesucht. Die Gendarmen Van der Weyden und Carpentier stehen vor Befunden, die den Atem stocken lassen. Nun wird Monsieur Lebleu, der Witwer des ersten Mordopfers und bisherige Hauptverdächtige, ertrunken in der Jauchegrube seines Hofes aufgefunden. True Detective aus der geschützten Werkstatt. Faszinierend, wie man an sonnigen Tagen sagt, wenn man die Klippen von England sehen kann (und es nicht regnet). Ich zähle die Seelenmesse zu den lustigsten und am besten konstruierten Szenen, die ich je in einem Film gesehen habe.

I had great fun from time to time rather than having a lot of fun all the time. In fact, the question is to what extant is this very specific (un) balance "so-called a detective story/so-called children's holiday adventure/so-called absurd take-seriously-comedy" suitable for this. Although many "funny" scenes are nice and are not highlighted can rightly aim for a cult status (yes, for example, the scene in the church at the end of the first episode), but apart from that, Dumont interprets in an absolutely new way the saying "repeated joke is not a joke". After all, in some cases, watching a lame running gag and episodes full of fillers all the time is like a torture sometimes. And the footage... Why isn't it just a feature-film with a typical footage? Shortening the movie would only be beneficial. That is for sure.
