Lange hat man nach dem Missing Link zwischen Mensch und Affe gesucht. Der Anthropologe Hamilton hat sein Leben der Erforschung dieser bislang unbekannten Spezies gewidmet. Im Dschungel von Thailand hat er die intelligenten Riesenaffen aufgespürt. Doch eine erste Expedition endet im Desaster. Hamiltons Kollegen werden von den Affen alle brutal massakriert. Eine zweite Expedition macht sich auf den Weg, erkennt aber erst im Dschungel selbst, dass sie es mit bösartigen Kreaturen zu tun hat. Einer nach dem anderen fallen die Forscher den blutrünstigen Riesenaffen zum Opfer. Ein gnadenloser Kampf um Leben und Tod beginnt. (Verleiher-Text)

Ouch! This was painful. An hour and a half of several dumb students, one scientist and a badass Asian woman running around in a forest, while their numbers decrease in an uninteresting fashion due to some funny digital apes. If you haven’t seen this film’s flock of flies, you are missing something. Had the creators meant this as a comedy, I would give it one star for the scene where the monkeys piss on the tents and our heroes believe it’s raining (it was incredible :D). Otherwise, clear Boo!

Blood Monkey is a film that you won't regret if you never see it. It's just a bad B-movie that won't show you anything really interesting, but on the other hand, it's proof that sometimes a film is made at any cost, even at the lowest possible one. If only they had at least made some interesting use of the Thai jungle, but apart from a couple of shots where it could have been quite scary, the film isn't worth it in that respect either.
