(Verleiher-Text)

Englisch Fandom is nice and I get it, but there’s no way this utterly average sci-fi film deserves a 90% rating. The TV show had several double episodes that were far better than this farewell movie. Actually, Continuum doesn’t have any original elements that weren’t already seen before in the series (The Ark of Truth was a little worse there). On top of that, the biggest attraction, R.D. Anderson, appears a grand total of five minutes or so. Even though it was decent fun, I expected a better finale and I can’t avoid feeling slightly disappointed. 60% ()

Englisch The gift for the fans has arrived. It thrilled the nostalgics and reconciled everyone who did not like Ori and the last two seasons. O'Neill and surprisingly wide enclave of cameo roles from Apophis and a number of familiar villains to Major Davis, that is exactly the way series should bid farewell. Remembering, quoting, touching and thrilling. Even if Continuum was just a completely unnecessary story, it was worth it for all the memories. But fortunately, it was not anything like that. ()

Englisch Stargate: Continuum is a very nice example of how FilmBooster and other film databases would function if the proclaimed wishes of many film fans to rate only their favorite genres and create fan clubs that would propel very average but genre-specific films to great heights were fulfilled. The rating, which until recently was near 90% for such a hopelessly average and naive film, is in a way unbelievable. I gave the series 2 stars, but it should be noted that there are episodes that can be considered much better than this stretched-out feature film. This is a sci-fi fantasy that is digestible and usable only for fans of the original series. Overall impression: 25%. ()

Englisch The best SG-1 for the last few years. Time travel and journeying through parallel worlds have always been my thing and I always manage to enjoy them. The story, to my surprise, was really successful because I honestly couldn't figure out how the creators were going to fit all the things that were being talked about into one cohesive whole. They did a great job, and they surprised me several times with twists that, even for me, were unexpected. Too bad they didn’t add a quarter of an hour to the movie and play around a little bit with life in the "new" world, then there'd be plenty of room for a few more clever touches. As far as the cast is concerned, they were simply great. So many familiar faces. Richard Dean Anderson is a little chubbier, as he has been in all his recent Stargate guest appearances, but his wisecracks are better than they used to be when he was younger. Speaking of wisecracks, Michael Shanks, as Daniel Jackson, tosses them off the cuff one after the other, winning my personal award for the movie's best wisecracker. My last words belong to General "Don S. Davis" Hamond, who died a few days ago, and Continuum is one of his last films. We're going to miss you. ()

Englisch It's wonderful that they managed to involve Richard Dean Anderson for the last episode, and it's true, his character is the one I was looking forward to the most. Unfortunately, he didn't get much screen time. I'm quite curious if he got tired of acting or something. Well, apparently, parenthood was the reason. Don't expect any amazing sci-fi from the movie, this is really something that was made for the fans, but sometimes that's enough. I enjoyed it again, and I don't usually like such paradoxes. ()
