(ORF)

Englisch The biker way of life says a whole lot of nothing to me, but damn, it must be so cool to blast AC/DC, get on a Harley and hit Route 66. That's why at the beginning the "wild hogs" had my sympathy (though grinding my teeth in the case of the pseudo-comedian Martin Lawrence), and it lasted me about halfway through, when the story turned into a clichéd comedy farce the kind we've seen about a hundred times before. I wouldn't be opposed to a sequel with this likeable bunch, but only with a much better script. ()

Englisch Wild Hogs is a transparently calculated mainstream affair for undemanding audiences. However, there are two positives here. Firstly, the presence of several male stars, albeit faded ones, and secondly, the romance of powerful motorcycles and endless roads. Who wouldn't want to roam the American countryside on such a machine? Virtually everyone would - except for me. I barely managed to stay balanced on a tricycle as a child, and currently, I have trouble maintaining balance in a car. Those noisy, devilishly fast machines don't impress me in the slightest, so I can focus on the film essence, which, once again, is mediocre. Overall impression: 25%. This comedy production, where I am always two steps ahead of the screenwriter, simply bores me and is not for me. ()

Englisch An easygoing old-school comedy. Good jokes and an excellent cast. The main quartet works exceedingly well. (John Travolta is just outstanding) and you can see that they had fun shooting it. I really enjoyed it and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. And that’s the important thing, isn’t it? :-) ()

Englisch Until about halfway through it's an average comedy with a few good jokes, but from the middle to the end it's unexpectedly boring and lame. It’s a shame, this four Wild Hogs would need a much better script, so that their "ride somewhere" would entertain even a person who doesn't care about motorbikes, i.e. me. ()

Englisch An easygoing flick with a gang of likeable characters who are simply a showcase of the typical archetypes of American comedy, which actually lets you detach yourself even more from their crazy trip. This is nothing but a mindless ride on the wave of catchy music that fortunately lacks any cringe-worthy and tasteless attempts at humour at any price. Besides, Marisa Tomey is gorgeous and I could relate to the character of Dudley, I also have trouble sometimes keeping my balance on a bike, especially late at night on the way back from certain establishments. Englisch When I first saw this film years ago, it struck me as quite funny and entertaining. That's why today I'm a bit puzzled because the humor felt forced from the start. The truth is, most scenes that used to make me laugh now left me in awkward silence, unable to figure out what I had enjoyed about the film before. It wasn't the fault of the cast which was stellar; the blame falls mostly on the script and direction. The film did have its funny moments, but they were painfully few, and the creators drowned them in awkwardness, especially in the final parade of clichés. / Lesson learned: A helmet with a fake ponytail and tattoo sleeves won't turn you into a biker. Englisch It's quite silly, but I can't help it, I quite like this comedy. I simply like this quartet because I really like all four actors. Travolta is also one of my favorites. Marisa Tomei is also here, Ray Liotta, and finally Peter Fonda. Yes, I'm not watching it for the story, but precisely because of the actors. And that's enough for me in this case. ()
