Seit dem Unfalltod seines Vaters hat sich Kale immer mehr von der Umwelt abgekapselt. Als er einem seiner Lehrer einen Fausthieb verpasst, stellt ihn der Richter mittels Fußfessel unter Hausarrest. Mehr aus Langeweile beginnt Kale seine Nachbarschaft mit Fernglas und Videokamera zu beobachten und lernt so die neu hinzugezogene Ashley kennen. Da weckt Nachbar Mr. Turner sein Interesse. Kale bringt ihn mit einer Mordserie in Verbindung und sucht mit Ashley und Freund Ronnie nach Indizien. (ORF)

Es wäre unfair zu behaupten, dass Disturbia auf dem meist recycelten Thriller-Stoff basiert und keinen überraschenden Augenblick enthält. Es ist ein handwerklich gut bewältigter und spannender Film für Teenager, denen Begriffe wie "Hitchcock" oder Das Fenster zum Hof egal sind. Shia LaBeouf hat sich würdevoll um die erste Stunde gekümmert, die ein wenig langweilig ist, und Sarah Roemer ruft Erinnerungen an die ersten Teenager-Lieben wach. Die letzten 20 Minuten eskalieren schön.

I don't know why Shia LaBeouf seems so scared and unshaven in all his movies, but maybe that's why I enjoy his movies in the end. In the beginning the movie seemed to me like "Home Alone for Grownups", gradually the movie picked up momentum and by the end I probably couldn’t even catch my breath.

For me personally, this was a bit of a test for Shia LaBeouf to see if he really is that good even without "giant fucking robots" covering his back. And it seems that he is. So I hope that he will carry on in this vein. P:S: Sarah Roemer is the second best looking fox on the silver screen this year.

Disturbia is a combination of the thriller classic Rear Window and the independent film Cherish, presented in teenage packaging. This is a case where lively and high-quality direction surpasses the average script containing inconsistencies and unfinished elements. It is precisely because of the direction and casting that I ultimately lean toward giving it four stars, even though scenes such as when the protagonist fearlessly enters a house, knowing that he will inevitably confront a brutal serial killer who is significantly bigger, stronger, and experienced in the field, evoke a indulgent smile from me. I believe that you would do the same as him, but I would prefer to provoke the neighbors and the police. Overall impression: 70%.

D.J. Caruso may not be in the category of directorial geniuses, but Temporary is honestly made craft, with a decent script (with a notorious theme since 1954) and especially a fantastic Shia LaBeouf. There hasn't been a teenager with such a flexible range of acting abilities in years. A likable film worth a Single watch that proves that even teen movies can be entertaining and clever at the same time.
