Beim Babyschwimmen will sich Baby Stewie Griffin des Star-Schwimmers per Sprengladung entledigen, wird aber Opfer seines eigenen Anschlags. In einem Nah-Tod-Erlebnis erhält Stewie einen kurzen Einblick in seine Zukunft, die der Hölle gleicht. Fortan versucht Stewie sein Leben in eine positive Richtung zu lenken, was ihm jedoch nicht so recht gelingen mag. Beim Zappen entdeckt Stewie plötzlich einen Mann, dem er wie aus dem Gesicht geschnitten ist. Klein Stewie macht sich auf die Suche nach dem Mann, der sein wahrer Vater sein muss. Tatsächlich handelt es sich aber um sein 30 Jahre älteres Ich, das gerade Urlaub in der Vergangenheit macht. Was Stewie dann über die Zukunft erfährt, gefällt ihm ganz und gar nicht….. Episodes of Family Guy never relied on a story (unlike for instance The Simpsons, Futurama and South Park), but on immediate comedy primarily involving visual gags and a murderous frequency of pop-culture references. So here we have a story vacuum stretched out to a feature-length movie. This means that in places we see forced attempts at humor from the creators, and they don’t always work. Not that there aren’t great gags here - there are, but they are mostly variations on scenes already seen in the TV series, and that just isn’t good enough. To add to things, the Griffin family is rather sidelined and the whole story revolves around Stewie which, surprisingly, isn’t a positive, because he doesn’t have very much at all in common with the “mother killer" from the series (which is in fact due to the “story" here). In essence, this is a completely pointless affair that does nothing to enrich the Family Guy world.
