Pawel Pawlikowski made a documentary road movie about the great-grandson of Fyodor Mikhaylovich Dostoyevsky, Dimitri – a tram driver from Petersburg. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Dimitri travels to the West to participate in a series of meetings dedicated to the works of his famous ancestor. However, the only thing Dimitri is really interested in is how to exploit the famous family name and earn money for a used Mercedes. The film criticizes the decay of society where material needs outweigh spiritual values. (Febiofest)
