Casey Ryback in einer sehr soliden Fortsetzung von Alarmstufe: Rot. In Alarmstufe: Rot 2 gibt es tolle Sprüche, Seagal ist in guter Form. Der Hauptschuft ist aber ein Vollidiot und das Drehbuch verarscht uns manchmal auf eine schrecklich peinliche Art und Weise. Ein Lob haben die Musik von Poledouris und die Arbeit der Trickmacher verdient (Die Zugszene am Ende ist sehr realistisch. Ich denke, dass man sie heutzutage, in der Zeit von digitalen Effekten, nicht besser drehen könnte.).

Mit zeitlichem Abstand würde ich sagen, dies war wirklich der beste Film von Seagal, der sich gelohnt hat. Als Zwölfjährigem hat mir Teil zwei viel besser gefallen als Teil eins, und ich war begeistert von der Leistung von Everett McGill. Umso überraschter war ich von seiner diametral unterschiedlichen Person in der Serie Twin Peaks.

Probably the best Seagal movie. It has great action, brutal moves, fantastic music, and very good stunts. Additionally, the final scene in the war cemetery is very iconic. Casey Ryback standing in his shiny white uniform with his niece over her father's grave, it always occurs to me that we actually see Seagal in the last good shot, in the last good movie.

If it weren't for the desperately uncharismatic and horribly overacting main villain, I'd give it another star, because the final result is not as tragic as could be expected from Seagal. What followed in his case is a different story.

Return to a time when Steven Seagal didn't resemble an obese patient. In this stage of his life, we can still somewhat believe in his action abilities, but the script is, even within the realm of his lifelong career and what action movie viewers are accustomed to, somewhat shallow and extremely illogical. It's true that fans don't usually seek intelligence, originality, and believability in action spectacles, but even so, it's clearly below average. Under Siege wasn't a stunning piece of filmmaking, but it did manage to avoid significant logical inconsistencies and leaps. My overall impression is 20%. Action movie fans might add a star, and Seagal's fans might add a second one.
