In Fathomberichtet Drew Xanthopoulos nicht nur über die Buckelwalforschung und neue Erkenntnisse aus der Beobachtung dieser Wale, sondern auch über die Wissenschaftler selbst und ihr Leben - sowohl in der Forschung als auch privat. Ich mochte die Sequenzen mit den Aufnahmen der Kommunikation der Buckelwale untereinander und die visuelle Darstellung ihrer "Stimmen", begleitet von schöner Musik, aber andererseits hat mich die persönliche Ebene des Films gestört, obwohl sie für dieses Genre nicht ganz üblich ist, was in meinen Augen den erzählerischen Wert des Films untergräbt. Bessere drei Sterne!
