Unknown (2006)

Englisch Good actors, an interesting script (or idea) and hopelessly boring visuals. A solid thriller for a dull evening, but lacking enough to step out of Saw's shadow.

Flags of Our Fathers (2006)

Englisch It's as if Clint Eastwood and Paul Haggis worked with an unfinished version of the script. Sometimes there's something missing, sometimes there's too much of something (god, the ending!!!) and mostly it's pretty boring. Fortunately, the landing and the ensuing battle almost match the opening of Saving Private Ryan, but it can't fix the overall impression. A mediocre film and a missed chance for more Oscars.

Bobby (2006)

Englisch Emilio Estevez the director is quite good, but Emilio Estevez the screenwriter is lost. The film doesn't let you get beneath the surface and watching more than a dozen characters is basically quite boring. If Bobby had reduced the number of characters and given them more personality, it could have been much better.

Das Streben nach Glück (2006)

Englisch A big surprise for me. I knew Will Smith could act well, but I didn’t expect that the ordinary story about a man trying to come back to normal life from rock bottom could be made in such an entertaining and fresh way. Although I approached the film with skepticism at the beginning, at the end I was left with nothing but satisfaction from a job well done without any major mistakes.

Saw III (2006)

Englisch The third one just recycles what we already saw in the previous one. It's good for one viewing, but otherwise it's just riding the wave of a popular property that doesn't bring anything new to the table. It's pretty boring.

V wie Vendetta (2005)

Englisch Pretty cheesy, pretty long, and pretty superficial compared to the source material. Still, a pretty entertaining film.

Joyeux Noël (2005)

Englisch It’s not bad but it could have been so much better. The director and screenwriter in one person failed to create interesting characters, and as a result, the potentially compelling story loses a lot. But if you are easily moved, you won't regret paying for a ticket. I wouldn't watch it a second time for any reason, though.

Unbesiegbar - Der Traum seines Lebens (2006)

Englisch Next to the sports films that have recently started to appear everywhere, Invincible falls into the sub-average. Peter Berg’s Friday Night Lights is visually somewhere else, Coach Carter on the other hand managed to deliver the moral in a much more entertaining way, and in general Mark Wahlberg's bartender-turned-football player is such a boring ball of nothing about how everyone in life has just their chance waiting for them to grab. It’s something we've seen a hundred times before, and mostly better. Apart from a few fairly interestingly shot scenes, basically an uninteresting football drama.

Flutsch und Weg (2006)

Englisch A surprisingly enjoyable affair that goes back in style to the old grotesques. There are some great movie references, some very funny scenes and cool worms. If it weren't for the unoriginality and a few deaf spots, I'm sure it would have been a star higher.
