Passwort: Swordfish (2001)

Englisch Dominic Sena made a decent action film without being able to rely on a good script. Granted, he was helped a lot by a more than decent cast, but even though I had a relatively decent time, I don't see a reason to watch this film a second time.

X-Men (2000)

Englisch The second best comic book adaptation (after The Crow). Great cast and characters, interesting script, very good visual effects and above all an interesting idea, something you won't find in most comic book movies today.

Die üblichen Verdächtigen (1995)

Englisch The best crime film of all time, mainly thanks to the performances, the perfect script and the even more perfect ending. Once you finish watching it, you have to watch it again. And then again and again. And it still won't be enough....

John Carpenters Vampire (1998)

Englisch Slightly above average stuff. Too bad John Carpenter ran out of breath halfway through. Unlike his earlier horror films, this one lacks carefully constructed atmosphere, but there's plenty of blood, violence, dry one-liners and a decent James Woods. Which is pretty cool.

Die Klapperschlange (1981)

Englisch A more than a decent B-movie with a tough Kurt Russell. Solid entertainment. Now a classic, but not necessarily to everyone's taste.

Halloween - Die Nacht des Grauens (1978)

Englisch Great horror movie. It's not as scary as it once was, but it still leaves most of its followers biting the dust thanks to its atmosphere. They say that you are most afraid of what you can't see, but when you see a killer whose emotions are unrecognizable due to his masked face, it may have an even greater effect. And you'll be whistling the musical theme long after you've finished the film...

Der blutige Pfad Gottes (1999)

Englisch In a word, perfect. The first philosophical action film. Flawless action, bloody good humour, absolutely perfect music, perfect acting, brilliant cinematography and above all a very interesting idea. Had this film been released in cinemas, it would have shaken the world.

Windtalkers (2002)

Englisch I'm pretty disappointed in this. Pretty much. The action doesn't have the bite that the other John Woo films have, Nicolas Cage doesn't really fit, and the story of Christian Slater and Roger Willie was much better and more emotional than the story of the main characters. If I wanted to compare it to Woo’s Hong Kong work, it would be even less so. As it is, it's a slightly above average war movie and a big step down in John Woo's career.
