One big carousel of all kinds of emotions, with the darker ones definitely predominating. And yet, paradoxically, I haven't laughed at a film like this in a long time, the black humour is flawless. For a better experience, I recommend not looking up anything about the Beksinski family, this is one of those films that you think how amazing and terrible it is at the same time, and you won't be able to get it out of your head for a few days. The soundtrack is brilliant, likewise with the casting, the actors perfectly resemble the real people. And then the whole handling of the passing years – I haven't seen such elaborate details in a long time.

The French have managed to do something again: to arouse every possible emotion in a person. You'll laugh, you'll be moved, and you'll also be furious and will feel like killing someone. I think the anger got the better of me. Some people, in this case Gloria's mother, don't have an ounce of shame in them. She has no shame, she has a lot of balls for just walking in and claiming something she has absolutely no right to, or I guess she does things according to the French justice system. Yeah, that's what she'd like, to put the baby down, leave the most challenging years of parenting to the father, and then walk in years later and "hey there, I'm your mommy, so now I'm taking you, ok?" It is a beautiful film, with an important message, but I’m still angry :)

After a long time, a film where the actions of the characters are not completely predictable, and I like that. The opening is very good, the longer sequences where nothing actually happens, where you watch Katherine looking out the window, falling asleep on the sofa, they perfectly portray the crazy boredom she experiences. Add to that the cinematography and the beautiful scenery: the English countryside of the second half of the 19th century, which is at the same time so terribly depressing that I personally, having a sleazy weirdo for a husband, with an even sleazier father-in-law, locked in the house all the time, and the only place to go outside is into the nasty weather, well, I think I’d do myself off. So logically you must feel sorry for the protagonist, at least up to a certain point, because then you would like pull the trigger yourself.

There are two categories of actors: the ones you notice and eventually find out that you've actually seen them in a movie before, but their acting wasn't distinctive or interesting enough for you to remember them. James McAvoy represents for me the other category, the actors that win you over the first moment you see them. And as funny as it is, McAvoy won me over with his role as Mr. Tumnus in Narnia. He's been one of my favorites for years, and after Split I declare him a god. What he can do with his face and voice is remarkable, he can be cute, creepy, scary, but also sensitive; at times he scares you and gives you goosebumps and in the next scene he moves you to tears. An acting tour-de-force. It was only after the second viewing that I was able to properly appreciate the depth of the story and the importance of the last personality. Not that it wasn't understandable the first time around, but the second time you can take in more of the details and context, and most importantly enjoy McAvoy's impeccable performance to the fullest. The actresses also did very well, I really liked the character of the psychologist, whose fate can be a bit predictable. And Casey was good, too, but poor girl! The ending may seem a bit far-fetched, but I personally didn't mind it at all. I mustn't forget the beautiful central musical theme, which immediately became part of my soundtrack playlist. Great experience.

Okay, we all know it's utterly stupid for an astronaut to hide her pregnancy and get to Mars, but so be it, then we wouldn't have a movie, and it would probably be a bit of a shame. I'm not saying this is a must-see, but it was so sweet and touching, I guess I was in the right mood. The visuals are beautiful, the score and soundtrack are wonderful, and I especially enjoyed Asa Butterfield in this role. And the question that will ring in my ears for a long time: "What's your favorite thing about Earth?".

The title should be 117 minutes of boredom. The only thing worth looking at is Dornan's body, and even that doesn't save the film. I would like to see Dakota Johnson in a deeper role, I enjoy her acting, it's so casual and natural. I don’t mind watching something undemanding every now and again, but this was about nothing. The first episode was a star more entertaining...

A well-paced thriller that won't let you breathe, and the twists and turns make it impossible to know how it will end. I enjoyed the gradual discovery of the truth through time jumps and it wasn't particularly confusing, it was just enough to heighten the tension and the viewer's curiosity. And most importantly, Duris and Le Bon are excellent, you trust them with every look, every wrinkle, every tear. This is a film that deserves a bigger audience.

Despite this, or maybe because I am an atheist, films with religious themes are among my favourites; they are full of questions and contradictions, and this film played exactly to my tune. And the best part of the whole experience was that I perceived the main characters as villains. There's no point in going on at length, this is simply worth watching. Everything works as it should and surprisingly for its running time and the amount of dialogue, the film has no dead moments and never bores for a second. Garfield is doing surprisingly well this year, and Driver, even though he doesn’t have as much space, I can't help but praise him again, he entertains and moves me in every role he plays (except Star Wars, that is :D).

Mel Gibson is back and that’s good. I liked the smooth and slow transition from the fairytale-like, funny beginning, through the more serious but still, thanks to Vaughn, humorous training, to the already serious, rough and bloody combat in the second half of the film. I also appreciate that the combat didn't revolve only around the protagonist: in the first part we don't really see him that much and we mainly observe the fate of the other soldiers. Mel didn’t push the envelope and he did well. Maybe he could have just left out the grenade detonation at the end. But where he did push the envelope, and in a good way, is in the combat scenes. In this respect, I loved a review from another user describing Gibson who, with a crazed face shouts: “MORE BLOOD MOTHERFUCKERS!”, but I did like that. No, I have never been in combat, I have never seen explosions, or guts, or a fight to the death with my own eyes, but this is exactly how I imagine it. Everything felt incredibly real, all the effects were honest, and I really appreciate that. For me, Hacksaw Ridge is one of those great war movies that I'll gladly watch again. And I have more thing to say, I want MORE GIBSON MOTHER****ERS!!! :)

Many will probably label this film as a shallow and formulaic drama, whatever. I happen to be thrilled that I needed a tissue for a stream of tears after a very long time. The music and cinematography certainly deserve praise, as does the director himself, given that this is his first feature film. Making a film based on a true story is always a challenge, a director should respect the story but at the same time he or she is making a film for the audience, it's not an easy task and I think Davis did it well. But I don't really understand the Oscar nominations this year, I'm not saying Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman were bad, but little Sunny Pawar crushed them both. Sunny is a small wonder and discovery for me, and I rank him right up there with Onata Aprile (What Maisie Knew) and Jacob Tremblay (Room) in terms of child actor talent; these three moved me more than their adult colleagues. The first half of the film tore my heart out, you realise what a different world you live in, and most importantly I was thinking the whole time: bloody hell, couldn’t you just stay on that bench?
