In my quest to find a good comedy, I came across this piece. Disappointing is probably an understatement, since I didn't laugh once the entire time. I probably have a different sense of humor, but that's not the only problem. The plot is uninteresting. I strongly dislike the cast, except for Natalie, and Zach Braff has hereby placed himself in the category of actors I don't like. It comes across as terribly disjointed and as a result I'm depressed. 1.5 stars ... one for Natalie Portman and the other half for effort.

The beginning promises to be a very well-made film, but it fades a bit as time goes on. Anthony Hopkins has incredible charisma and I was rooting for him until the very end. Ryan Gosling could have given more of himself, but he was still watchable. This is definitely an above average film, but it falls short of perfection due to a lack of suspense and the ability to engage the viewer. Exactly 4 stars.

Who would ever have thought Matthew McConaughey could act so well. Without thinking twice, I rate the role of Mick Haller as his best. Ryan Phillippe was also an excellent choice with the first role that suits him in a long time. A quality script with a successful plot. 4.5 stars. After much thought, I'm leaning towards a higher rating because the film as a whole made a good impression on me.

I wasn't happy with Seon-ah Kim at first. She didn't fit at all and in the first few episodes I was tapping my forehead and asking "why her?". But then I realized that her charm is that she's not afraid to make a total idiot of herself on camera. As long as the viewer's having fun... and I was having fun. It works as a good comedy and the dramatic aspect is also quite well done. It was just the pile of forced situations that made the overall experience unpleasant. The main couple didn't really fit together, but Henry and Joo Hee-jin are like a couple cut out of a magazine. Bin Hyun was great as always, and again, completely different from what we know him to be. 4 stars.

The film is based on a perfect idea that was used very well. So-young Ko is an unassuming and likable actress who won me over right away. The story is engaging and the slightly comical situations are well done. I'm pleasantly surprised and have nothing to fault as I had a fantastic time throughout. The final dance wasn't bad. Great! 4.5 stars.

Even though Diesel isn't as handsome here as he is now, I have to admit that this is quite possibly his best role. Movies like this have to have a charismatic hero, otherwise no one would care. Vin Diesel handled it brilliantly and with aplomb. One of the better ones from the courtroom. 4 stars.

I could forgive a slightly slapdash script, but isn't good animation a requirement these days? I guess not... because I certainly can't praise it here. The mom in particular was not good at all. This film is lacking in wit, color, and originality. A great waste of an idea. Not even John Powell's great music can bring this to life. 2.5 stars.

The first half was definitely a lot stronger, because by the second half I was having trouble keeping my attention at times. In fact, I started to get slightly lost in the fight scenes and I wasn’t really feeling any suspense. I'm definitely not disappointed though. You can smell good old Spielberg and it maintains its grandeur. The child cast in particular was excellent. Elle Fanning has grown up and is already a great actress. A weaker 4 stars.

A hundred tired jokes planted in an uninteresting plot that addresses typical relationship problems. The only upside is the divine soundtrack, which is better played on its own. Dan Fogler, on the other hand, is the biggest bummer. What is certain is that if he didn't have a few extra pounds, he wouldn't have appeared in the film. His acting ability is based on how funny he looks when he dances. Fortunately, I didn't mind the female cast. 2.5 stars.

Once again, a film full of quality humor and great lines. I don't think anyone in the cast is up to Ryan Gosling’s standard, but Steve Carell shone exceptionally. There are plenty of scenes that made me laugh out loud and a few that made me melt a little. The music was also well chosen. I appreciate films like this in this day and age. The only thing that kept it from perfection for me was a bit less of an American ending. 4.5 stars.
