Greyhound is a dynamically filmed adaptation of a book about escorting convoys of merchant ships across the Atlantic during the Second World War to territories that airplanes couldn't reach from the mainland. The sometimes nerve-racking maneuvers of giant steel ships are intensified by Neely’s background music with a spine-chilling whale motif. The mocking pack of Nazi wolves pitted against Christ – a real American – does not come across as ridiculously as you might think. Tom “Covid Survivor" Hanks again thoroughly relishes his role of a professional, logical captain, first doing what has to be done, then humbly leafing through the Bible, and then going to bed. Strong emphasis on detail, good length. The special effects were not consistently good.

Greg Rucka just reels off stories like this, one after the other. The Old Guard has excellent subject matter. The idea has potential, but the product doesn’t fully realize it. The action is fairly solid, but the music-video-style visuals are disappointing and the R&B soundtrack kills every other scene. Charlize looks great with an ax and, if they had focused more on the past, this could have turned out to be exceptionally good movie. As it stands, it is just a reasonably good TV movie that promises a more entertaining sequel.

I watched it half-heartedly between three screaming kids, but the scene in the toilet where the guard gets pissed on and then smashed against the sink and urinal with his access card really got to me.

Since the success of Aquaman, it’s been a roller coaster ride with Vince and the others. The studio going behind people’s backs, changes of agent and the quest for a role in Medellín give the story a good pace, keeping you biting your nails up to your elbow. The finale is luckily unbelievably positive. The prophet of good times ahead.

It's not bad, but it lacks the darkness and edginess that used to characterize Asterix. The superhero battle seasoned with a final duel in the style of Power Rangers was a bit too much.

The second season is great. In addition to hanging out, Vinny and his mated fuel a proper story directed by Jim Cameron. Everyone in the gang has something to say, and they address rises and falls.

Something between a folk fairy tale and a superhero movie. I like the fantasy choreography (Yuen Woo-Ping is a magician) and the overall naive optimism that radiates from this movie when the evil officials are left to burn to a cinder and the heroes then invite each other for a polite visit. I wonder if any of the cynical lines emerged only during the dubbing.

The swan song of the extremely angular Renault 21 Turbo. The screenplay is naive and simple and basically it serves just as the driving force behind the dynamic action. The crashes are super, fights numerous. A slightly above-average French action snack.

A modern-day Harry Potter. These kids aren’t learning to do magic, but to kill people. The movie offers unexpectedly well-thought-out character development, multi-layered heroes and lots of violence, blood and cursing. It draws on a wealth of cult films and is a derivative for sure. But it’s still entertaining with a lot of potential. The ending is as open as a gutted pig, so it’s duty bound to run a second season.

Sergio is a strange political/romantic drama with several shocking scenes (chopping off feet). The story jumps between the liberation of East Timor and explosions in Baghdad with several alarming hints that can be interpreted in all sorts of ways and that open up a lot of space for conspiracy theory aficionados. In terms of acting, the film is faultless; Moura and Ana de Armas are both excellent. The locations that they visit are a sight for sore eyes, just like Ana herself. It’s just a shame that the filmmakers wanted to avoid controversy and thus chose to whistle a safe love song.
