Jakob Lass (b. 1981, Bavaria) took a course in acting and has been studying direction at the Konrad Wolf Film and Television School in Potsdam-Babelsberg since 2009. A year earlier, his short film Bademeister Paul was shown as part of the Berlinale Talent Campus. He has made more than a dozen short films (including Nebot, 2004; Them Brakes, 2008; and Kiss Off, 2012) that have screened and won awards at numerous festivals. His feature debut was the provocative Frontalwatte (2011), on which he collaborated with the cinematographer (Timon Schäppi) and main actor (Franz Rogowski) on Love Steaks. In 2008, he and his brother Tom founded Lass Bros productions. He lives and works in Berlin.
