Juan Andrés Arango Garcia

Juan Andrés Arango is a Canadian Colombian-born director, screenwriter and director of photography. He studied cinema at the National Colombian University and at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He directed documentaries and shorts before helming La Playa D.C., his first feature film, which had its world premiere in Un Certain Regard at Cannes in 2012. The film has since played in more than 80 festivals around the world and has gone on to win several awards. It was selected to represent Colombia at the Oscars in 2014.
