Biografie

Jason Clark had a busy 2012, producing or executive producing three distinct feature films: 42, starring Harrison Ford; Joss Whedon’s horror hit The Cabin in the Woods; and the recent box-office success Act of Valor, a cutting-edge action film shot exclusively on the Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital camera and featuring a cast of actual members of the elite military force the Navy SEAL. Clark will reteam with MacFarlane on Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey for FOX, a 13-part miniseries reboot of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, and an IMAX 3D movie based on the same material.

Clark is also simultaneously producing Mr. Peabody & Sherman, a feature-length animated version of Jay Ward’s classic 1960s cartoon characters, directed by Rob Minkoff, with whom he collaborated as an executive producer on Stuart Little and Stuart Little 2.

An innovator in cutting-edge technology, Clark headed up DreamWorks Animation Studio’s move into stereoscopic 3D cinema, and he executive produced, with Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis, the groundbreaking, Oscar®-nominated, motion-capture-animated, stereoscopic 3D film Monster House. Clark regularly consults for Relativity Pictures and has assisted in the stereoscopic 3D conversion of Immortals and My Soul to Take.

After graduating from UCLA with a degree in economics, Clark worked for director Walter Hill. He eventually produced several action pictures around the globe, working with action star Jean-Claude Van Damme on The Quest, Sudden Death and Maximum Risk, and gained rich production experience in Asia and Europe.

Clark has kept a hand in film financing and has produced several independent films, including Happy, Texas, which sold for a record-breaking price at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. Clark is a founding member of the design organization 5D: The Future of Immersive Design and remains an active member of the Directors Guild of America, the Producers Guild of America and the International 3D Society.
