Biografie

Born 1975, Babak Najafi graduated at the documentary directing programme at
Stockholm's Dramatiska Institutet in 2002. He received the Bo Widerberg Scholarship
in 2004 after directing the short film comedy ELIXIR. Najafi debuted as a feature film
writer and director in 2010 with the critically acclaimed SEBBE, for which he won the
Best First Feature Award at the Berlin International Film Festival together with
numerous international prizes. SEBBE was also appointed Best Film of the Year by
both the Swedish Film Institute and the Swedish Film Critics´ association.
