Rafi Pitts' first feature The Fifth Season (1997) premièred at the Venice Film Festival. Sanam (2000) was hailed by French critics as the Iranian The 400 Blows. In 2003, Pitts presented his controversial feature documentary, Abel Ferrara Not Guilty in Locarno. It's Winter (2006) premièred in the Berlinale Competition, The Hunter (2010) also premièred in the Berlinale Competition, as well as his latest feature Soy Nero (2016).
