Biografie
Corey Stoll, a favorite of critics and audiences alike, was in 2014 seen in the FX series "The Strain," based on the best-selling novel by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, with del Toro serving as a writer and director. Stoll also shot Peyton Reed's "Ant Man," in which he starred opposite Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd. Also in 2014, Stoll starred in the thriller "Dark Places," opposite Charlize Theron, and the drama "The Good Lie," with Reese Witherspoon.
Prior to that, Stoll starred in Noah Buschel's "Glass Chin," which premiered at The Tribeca Film Festival, and in the hit "Non-Stop," opposite Liam Neeson. Corey is well known for his portrayal of Congressman Peter Russo in David Fincher's Netflix series "House of Cards," for which he received a 2013 Golden Globe nomination.
His other projects include Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris," in which he portrayed Ernest Hemingway, earning him an Independent Spirit Award nomination; the Sundance competition film "C.O.G.," based on the David Sedaris' short story; "Salt," with Angelina Jolie; and the co-leading role in Dick Wolf's "Law & Order: Los Angeles," opposite Alfred Molina.
After graduating from NYU with an MFA in 2003, Stoll landed his first professional gig on stage in Lynn Nottage's "Intimate Apparel," playing the love interest of Viola Davis' character. His performance earned a Drama Desk Award nomination in New York and a Drama Critics' Circle Award in Los Angeles. His more recent stage credit was the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge," opposite Liev Schreiber and Scarlett Johansson, in 2010.
