Sophie Dros creates films about rather politically incorrect subjects and lifestyles she feels intrigued by. According to her, the sole purpose of film and television is making ourselves feel better about our own imperfections. However, Sophie endeavours to emphasize in her films that people aren’t that different from one another and finds the visual narration in documentary crucial for aiming at that goal. Leven zonder Tranen, OP=OP, My Silicone Love and What’s a Gender? are examples of her past film investigations that have led her to question issues like eating disorders, S&M relations or gender fluidity.
