Biografie

Gerardo Panichi begins working in films as personal assistant to the producer Fabrizio Mosca on the film The Hundred Steps, by Marco Tullio Giordana, winner of the Best Screenplay prize at the 57th Venice International Film Festival. Since 2002 he has produced and directed documentaries that have been sold to major international TV channels and officially selected by prestigious Film and Documentary Festivals. Since 2009, the company acts as executive production for foreign films shot in Italy. Among the titles, The Tree of Life, by Terrence Malick, winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. In 2012 he co-directs Giuseppe Tornatore: Every film my first film, a biographical documentary on the Oscar winner filmmaker Giuseppe Tornatore, which is awarded the Nastro d’Argento as best documentary on films in 2013. The same year he becomes President of Doc/it, the Italian Association of Documentary filmmakers.
