Biografie
Scott is perhaps best known for his role as Ben Wyatt on the NBC Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated comedy series Parks and Recreation, which completed its seventh and final season in February 2015. Scott earned two Critics' Choice Television Awards nominations for his work on the show.
Previously, Scott could be seen opposite Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie in Sleeping with Other People, a romantic comedy that premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and was released in theaters in September. Scott was also the lead in the indie comedy A.C.O.D. and starred in Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, the remake from Red Hour Films and 20th Century Fox.
Scott's additional film credits include Black Mass, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Friends with Kids, See Girl Run, The Guilt Trip, Bachelorette, Our Idiot Brother, The Aviator, August, Piranha 3D, Leap Year, Knocked Up, The Great Buck Howard, Art School Confidential and the blockbuster comedy Step Brothers. Scott also starred opposite Brittany Snow in The Vicious Kind, a dramatic role for which he received a 2010 Independent Spirit Awards nomination for Best Male Lead.
Scott starred in the Starz original series Party Down, which has gained a cult following in recent years. He produced it alongside executive producers Paul Rudd, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge and John Enbom. Scott also starred as Palek in the critically acclaimed HBO series Tell Me You Love Me and had a recurring role on the HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down, which also starred Danny McBride.
Off-screen, Adam Scott formed a production company with wife Naomi Scott called Gettin' Rad Productions. Together with Jay and Mark Duplass, the duo executive produced The Overnight, a comedy which starred Jason Schwartzman and Taylor Schilling. The film premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim and was released in theaters in June 2015.
The Scotts have also signed a development deal with Universal Television under the Gettin' Rad umbrella. The duo executive produced Buds, a scripted comedy revolving around the day-to-day operations of a marijuana dispensary, alongside Joe Mande as part of their first-look deal.
Gettin' Rad has also created and produced a series of specials for Adult Swim called The Greatest Event in Television History. The specials, which Scott directed, have featured Paul Rudd, Jon Hamm, Amy Poehler, Tom Hanks and Billy Joel, among others.
