Fritz Lang (1890-1976) was an first an Austrian, but later an American director, screenwriter and producer. The first part of his filmography was made at Ufa studio in Berlin, dealing primarily with silent diptychs Siegfried's Death (Die Nibelungen, 1924), the famous sci-fi Metropolis (1927) and his first talking film M (931).
