Martin Skyba

He graduated in 1965 from the Faculty of Journalism at the Charles University in Prague. Since 1957 worked in Czech TV, where he went through many stages of artistic output. From 1961 he worked as a script editor for short film production and broadcasting. From 1967 till 1991 he worked as a script editor and director of commercial broadcasting (he himself characterizes this stage as “practical film school”), in the documentary department and department of special science and environmental programme. In 1991 he became a freelance filmmaker and now he produces his own works under the logo SkyTVilm. Since 1994 he has been Chairman and since 2002 he has been Vicepresident of FITES, the Czech Film and Television Association. From 1993 he organized annual Review of Czech Documentaries and Animation Production. He filmed in Bulgaria, Poland, Austria, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Canada.
