Hauser then re-teamed with Damon and Affleck in Good Will Hunting.
Hauser went on to play a skinhead leader in John Singleton's college drama Higher Learning, alongside Jennifer Connelly and Kristy Swanson. Hauser would later re-team with Singleton in 2 Fast 2 Furious, opposite Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and Eva Mendes. Hauser also played a prisoner-of-war in Hart's War with Bruce Willis and Collin Farrell. He joined Willis again for Tears of the Sun, directed by Antoine Fuqua, in the role of a Navy SEAL.

For his performance as Staff Sergeant Cota in Joel Schumacher's Tigerland, Hauser was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award (Best Supporting Actor). He then starred as Bo Laramie in Paparazzi, alongside Robin Tunney and Dennis Farina.
