Takashi Shimizu

Born in 1972 in Gunma Prefecture (Japan), he scored a theatrical success with Ju-on: The Grudge (2002) and Ju-on: The Grudge 2 (2003). With his fellow filmmakers Hideo Nakata and Kiyoshi Kurosawa, he was part of the new wave a Japanese horror films. At the request of director Sam Raimi who produced the film, he remade his first film in 2004 in the USA as The Grudge which had a sequel in 2006. He was honored, in his presence, at Gérardmer Festival in 2008.
