Biografie
After graduating in film studies and history of art in Paris and Berlin, Julian Radlmaier turned his focus to film theory. He later became assistant to Werner Schroeter, one of the most important directors of the New German Cinema. Radlmaier first made short and mid-length films and his A Spectre is Haunting Europe picked up prizes at the Venice and Oberhaussen festivals.
In 2014, he released his debut feature, A Proletarian Winter's Tale, which made a splash at student festivals. Radlmaier's work has an identifiable style, featuring elements of symbolism along with references to the history of film and the political situation.
